February 10, 2010 (Waterloo, ON). The Real Men Can Cook Committee has selected the Cystinosis Awareness and Research Effort ("CARE") for their cause. On Saturday April 10, 2010 they are presenting the 3rd Annual "Real Men Can Cook" event which will bring together over 100 cooks to support CARE.

Trevor Strauss would like to thank the Real Men Can Cook ("RMCC") committee members and community partners for selecting CARE. "We are fortunate that the RMCC Committe has selected CARE to support, and we want to thank them."

RMCC is looking for sponsors who are interested in taking a leading role in the Real Men Can Cook Event.

Barb Parker, the Co-Chair of the Committee that organizes the event extends an official invitation to be part of this great event.  "Let it never be said that real men can’t cook. In fact, not only do we believe that they can, we’re giving 100 men an opportunity to prove it - Real Men Can Cook!"

February 13, 2010 (Waterloo, ON) - Real Men Can Cook is holding an exciting fundraising event organized by a dedicated committee that invites men throughout the community to come together and show off their cooking skills in support of an important cause - Cystinosis. This third annual event will be held on Saturday, April 10th, 2010 at St. George Banquet Hall with all proceeds going to support the important research and awareness efforts relating to the rare disease, Cystinosis

We invite you to join 99 other men in creating a dish of your choice. That dish will then be sampled by professional chefs, and awards will be given for the Real Men Can Cook Chef of the Year and the Real Men Can Cook People’s Choice Award.

Say yes, and here’s what you’ll have to look forward to:
 

• up to 100 chefs in total - preparing a dish for 50 people
• Real Men Can Cook 2010 Cookbook including all of  the recipes from the evening
• Professional chefs to be judges
• A complimentary signature apron and hat as a souvenir of the evening
• Complimentary tickets for you and your guest, partner, or spouse
• Dinner and Cocktail hour prior to event for all chefs
• Wonderful entertainment throughout the evening ending with a night of dancing

We are really excited about this great event and hope we can count on you to be a part of it.  We have moved to a much bigger venue and are increasing the number of chefs we've previously had from 60 to 100. 

So, get your knives sharpened, and start thinking of your favorite recipe.

June 22, 2010 (Waterloo, ON) - Patients and families impacted by cystinosis have many more reasons to hope for a cure thanks to the support of the Ontario Tire Dealer’s Association (OTDA) support at their annual fundraiser golf tournament.

In 1999 the Board of Directors of OTDA made a dramatic shift in direction and introduced a charity component to our annual fundraiser golf tournament. Since then, there has been no looking back. Now in its 8th consecutive year the Annual Fundraiser & Charity Golf Classic has not only sold out, but there has been an extensive wait list by May.

There will be a Silent and Live Auction under the direction of Ken Dillabough a full time tire dealer and professional auctioneer.

January 20, 2010 (Drayton and Waterloo, ON) - We are honoured that the 2010 Ontario Tire Dealer’s Association (OTDA) Annual Fundraiser & Charity Golf Classic has selected to support the Cystinosis Awareness and Research Effort (CARE). This year’s event will be held at the strikingly beautiful Crosswinds Golf & Country Club, conveniently located just south of Hwy. 401. Crosswinds features a majestic natural setting framed by the rugged beauty of the Niagara Escarpment.

Since 1999, the OTDA has raised over $165,000 for charity and helped elevate the image of the tire industry in a variety of communities.

This year, they are supporting the Cystinosis Awareness and Research Effort (CARE) and this popular event sells out year after year and offers a fabulous venue for fun and fellowship. The OTDA Annual Fundraiser & Charity Golf Classic is their largest single event of the year and will occur on June 22nd.

The families impacted by cystinosis would like to thank the Ontario Tire Dealer’s Association (OTDA) for their support at their annual fundraiser golf tournament.
